Grounding of the drum
The ground contact point (Ground Plate) for the drum is located inside the drum at its front side.
It is, at all times, in contact with the shaft of the front plate of the imaging cartridge. When the im-
aging cartridge is loaded in the printer, the set pin of the front plate of the imaging cartridge con-
tacts a side plate on the printer side, thereby providing grounding. The potential on the surface of
the drum exposed to the laser beam is then grounded through the ground plate, shaft, and set pin
to the frame of the printer.
