16.1.2 To configure the DHCP server
16.1.2.1 To create and configure scopes
The DHCP server requires at least one scope. A scope is a range of IP addresses that the server
can allocate to the client i7xx set.
Then consider the number of subnets included in the network considered. One DHCP server can
serve several subnets, but only if the routers are configured as DHCP relay agents.
The DHCP server can only allocate one scope to each subnet.
Procedure
Right-click on the line that corresponds to the DHCP server,
Select New scope in the pop-up menu,
Click Next in the welcome window,
Then enter the scope name and click Next,
Select YES to continue configuring the DHCP parameters for the new scope,
The IP address range screen is displayed:
Define the range of consecutive addresses in the scope,
- IP address of the start of the range,
- IP address of the end of the range,
Define the subnet mask for the scope addresses,
Click Next.
