Installation Manual Digital sets - IP Sets - SIP Sets AMT/PTD/TR/0001/3/7/EN
Appendix 05/2008 Page 16-15
Note : The frames sent by the PC connected to the i7xx set remain untagged in IEEE 802.3.
In this case, the network switch to which the client i7xx set is connected must agree to receive
IEEE 802.1 Q/P tagged and untagged frames over the same physical port. Not all the switches on
the market include this feature.
Without rebooting, the set sends another DHCP request over the "telephony" VLAN, where it
kept the number supplied by the first DHCP lease.
A DHCP server in the telephony VLAN will propose a lease containing the parameters that can
be used by the i7xx set: IP address, subnet mask, IP address of the "default gateway".
The DHCP server can be unique and in the data VLAN, provided that it is configured with more
than one DHCP scope, one for the local data clients (on the same data VLAN) and the other for the
i7xx sets on the telephony VLAN. In the latter case, a router must be connected to these two
VLANs to handle the DHCP Relay function.
