7.14.2 Functionality
Conventional protection functions can not detect the broken conductor condition. Broken
conductor check BRCPTOC (46) function, consisting of continuous phase selective
current unsymmetrical check on the line where the IED is connected will give alarm or trip
at detecting broken conductors.
