To use the removable hard disk option
The removable hard disk option, 86100C-090, is designed for 86100C instru-
ments that are used in a secure environment. Because the hard disk is easily
removed from the instrument, you can protect any sensitive data. The follow-
ing two procedures are provided in this section:
To declassify instrument memory 1-28
To exchange the removable hard disks 1-31
The removable hard disk option comes with two hard disks. One is installed in
the instrument, and one is provided separately. When shipped from the fac-
tory, both hard disks include identical operating system, applications, factory
calibration, and licensing files. You simply exchange the hard disks, and the
instrument is ready to use. Both drive C (INFINIIUM) and drive D (USER) are
located on the hard disk.
Drive C contains the following items:
• Operating system
• 86100C application
• Any factory or user installed applications
• Factory calibration data (automatically backed up to drive D)
• Application licenses (automatically backed up to drive D)
Drive D contains the following items:
• Backup files
• User files including data files
CAUTION Use standard anti-static precautions when handling removable hard disks to avoid damaging
the disks.
