Analyzing Samples
Agilent Cary 630 FTIR Spectrometer User’s Guide 25
CAUTION
When removed, the opening in the mounting surface of the sampling accessory
is exposed to the ambient environment, and delicate optical components are
contained inside. Use caution when handling to ensure the accessory stays clean
and nothing comes in contact with the optical components.
3 Slide the new sampling accessory into the recessed areas of the
main unit. The lever will click back into place when the accessory
is properly seated.
Notice the two stainless steel dowel pins protruding out of the
Cary 630 FTIR unit. This is to ensure proper placement and
alignment of the accessories.
4 Store the removed sampling accessory in a clean, protected area,
such as in a plastic bag inside foam-lined shipping container.
5 The MicroLab PC Software will recognize the new sampling
accessory and will display the appropriate accessory picture in
the software.
The recognition of the accessory takes a few moments for the
RFID reader to recognize the accessory and change the
diagnostic values to represent the appropriate sampling
device and throughput level. Wait for the software to return
you to the main screen where the image will change to the new
accessory.
Once this image changes, note the status indicator in the
software to determine when the instrument is ready to use.
The user should also change to an appropriate method for the
new accessory and the software will prompt for action.
6 To ensure everything is correctly working, review the Diagnostics
values section on Page 18.
