Analyzing Samples
50 Agilent Cary 630 FTIR Spectrometer User’s Guide
When in the sample analysis mode, the DialPath pathlength is set to a
predetermined factory-set value in microns. The alignment of the
accessory is also pre-set at the factory and so there is no adjustment
required.
Cleaning
To clean the DialPath sampling windows in preparation for
analysis:
1 Rotate the DialPath so that optical window Position 2 is pointing
upward (see Figure 13).
2 Clean the window of the position last used for analysis, using a
cotton swab dipped in acetone (see Figure 15, which shows
cleaning Position 3).
3 Clean the bottom sample mounting area (see Figure 15).
4 If using Position 2, clean either Position 3 or 1, depending on the
direction the DialPath was rotated.

NOTE
Use only soft cotton cloth, such as cotton swabs or a suitable substitute to clean
the optical windows and sample mounting area.
