Analyzing Samples
Agilent Cary 630 FTIR Spectrometer User’s Guide 49
In the sample loading and cleaning mode, the DialPath is rotated so
the optical window is facing up (see Figure 13). In this position, the
sample mounting area can be easily accessed for loading the sample
into place and for cleaning the sampling surfaces before the next
sample is analyzed.
Figure 13. DialPath with optical window facing up
In sample analysis mode, the DialPath is rotated such that the optical
window is facing down towards the sample mounting area. In this
position, infrared energy passes through the sample, making
measurement possible. The DialPath arm must be completely rotated
around until it reaches the detent and clicks into position. This detent
keeps the accessory stationary during sample measurement.
