4 After completing the sample measurement, immediately clean the
sample from the accessory using the instructions provided on
Page 38. It is important to make sure the 5 bounce ZnSe sampling
window is free of any residue from the previous sample.

Transmission Sampling Accessory
The standard Transmission sampling accessory (see Figure 9) has a
card slide mount holder, which is compatible with industry standard
sized holders. Such holders include those for KBr pellets, liquid cells
and salt plates.

A recessed area in the front panel allows for tubing access to liquid
cells.
Transmission analysis is typically used for the identification of
unknown materials. Salt plates are most commonly used as the sample
support for unknown liquid materials, whereas KBr pellets are used to
dilute and support solid materials into the infrared beam.
Transmission analysis can also be used for quantitative analysis using
sealed cells or demountable cells with constant pathlengths. The
Transmission accessory for the Cary 630 FTIR is specifically designed
to accept industry standard sized cells. These can be obtained directly
from Agilent or from your preferred accessory vendor.
