Front-Panel Key Reference
MEASURE
The mean carrier power is calculated by:
1. converting each trace point amplitude from dBm into linear
power
2. Adding the above amplitudes together and dividing by the
number of points included in the average.
3. This value is then displayed in logarithmic form (dBm).
where Pavg = average power, n is the start trace point, m= the stop
trace point, and p= the trace point amplitude power in dBm.
The figure below shows an example of the results obtained when
measuring a Bluetooth™ signal and with a user-defined burst width.
