Use the following steps to apply 10 MHz bandwidth noise to a 500 MHz, –10 dBm carrier.
1. Configure the noise:
a. Preset the signal generator.
b. Press Mode > Real Time I/Q Baseband AWGN
c. Press Bandwidth > 10 > MHz.
2. Generate the noise:
Press AWGN Off On until On highlights.
During generation, the AWGN and I/Q
annunciators activate (as shown at
right). AWGN is now available to
modulate the RF carrier.
3. Configure the RF output:
• Frequency: 500 MHz
• Amplitude: −10 dBm
•RF output: on
The carrier with AWGN is now available at the signal generator’s RF OUTPUT connector.
