Adjusting the Bend Effect
This adjusts the Bend sensor for Pitch Bend Up/Down (moving up/down of pitch) and
sets the width of your Pitch Bends.
3. Hold the EWI4000s correctly and play it. The Bend
Effect is properly adjusted if the pitch of the sound
goes up (also the upper indicator LED lights up)
when you slide your thumb to the Bend Up plate.
Likewise, the pitch of the sound should go down
(also the lower indicator LED lights up) when you
slide your thumb to the Bend Down Plate.
The overall change in pitch varies by how much of the
plate your thumb is touching as well as the way it is touch-
ing the plate. You’ll need to experiment using the Bend
UP/Down plate for best results.
If you turn the “W” (Width) knob counterclockwise, the
range becomes narrower.
Note: After adjusting the W (Width) knob, you need to adjust the A (Adjust) knob again.
1. Set the “W” (Width) knob in the “PB”
(Pitch Bend) section to full clockwise
position.
2. While touching your thumb only to the
Earth plate (not touching the Bend Up/
Down plate), adjust the “A”
(Adjust) knob in the
“PB”(Pitch Bend) section
so that both the UP and
DOWN indicators go
“OFF”.
