Action Gesture
Adjust a seek control
Seek controls are used to adjust settings such as volume or screen brightness. To adjust
a seek control:
1. Move Screen Reader focus to the control you want to adjust.
2. Swipe right then left, or left then right, with a finger in a single motion. Alternatively,
double-tap and hold, and then slide a finger to adjust the control.
Press and hold an item
to view additional
information and/or to
drag an item
Double-tap and hold for one second. After you hear a tone, swipe to navigate the pop-up
menu.
Unlock the screen
When the screen is locked, swipe up from the bottom of the screen with two fingers to
unlock your device.
Guide to Screen Magnifier
When the Screen Magnifier is turned on, you can magnify your screen to read items more easily. The
Screen Magnifier can be helpful for users with low vision.
Action Gesture
Turn screen
magnification on or off
Triple-tap the screen with a finger. If the screen doesn't magnify, try slowing down your
tapping speed.
Note: Make sure the Screen Magnifier setting is enabled. From Settings, tap Device, and
then tap Manage Accessibility.
Pan
Drag two fingers across the screen. Hold your fingers slightly apart while panning.
Change zoom level
Triple-tap the screen with a finger and hold. To pan, drag your finger across the screen.
When you're finished, lift your finger.
Temporarily turn
screen magnification
off
Pinch inward or outward with two fingers when the screen is magnified.
Use a Hearing Aid with Your Phone
Depending on the type of hearing aids you use, a hearing aid may enhance your experience with Fire
phone.
Your phone has a Hearing Aid Compatibility rating of T4/M4.*
Tip: To optimize your experience using a hearing aid with your phone, enable Hearing Aid Mode and then simply
position the receiver near your hearing aid's built-in microphone(s).
If your hearing aid does not have a t-coil (“T”) mode, there are third-party neck loop devices available that
connect to your phone through the headphone jack or via Bluetooth.
1. To enable Hearing Aid Mode:
a. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Actions panel, and then tap the Settings
icon.
b. Tap Device, and then tap Manage Accessibility.
c. Under Hearing Settings, tap On next to Hearing Aid Mode.
