7.2.2 Instantaneous temperature measurement
Instantaneoustemperaturemeasurementprovidesthereal-timeobserved
temperaturevalue.Thetemperatureisupdatedcontinuouslyandthevalueis
viewedintheinstrumenteyepiece.
7.2.3 Averaged temperature measurement (Not available on Cyclops 055L)
Averagedtemperaturemeasurementgivesa‘smoothed’temperaturevalue.
Tousetheaveragingfunction,press and hold downthetrigger.The
averagingfunctionoperatesfortheperiodduringwhichthetriggerisheld
down.Averagingstopswhenthetriggerisreleased.
TheresponsetimeoftheaveragingiscontrolledbytheAverager Time
ConstantsettinginMenu Mode.TheoptionsareSlow,MidandFast.Use
the
and keystoselecttherequiredoptionfromthemenu.
WithaFasttimeconstantselected,thetemperaturereadingclosely
matchestheobjecttemperature.Onlythemostrapiductuationsinthe
inputaresmoothedintheoutput.WithaSlowtimeconstantselected,the
temperaturereadingismuchsmoother,displayingmoreofa‘trend’value
ratherthanshowinganyrapidchanges.WithaMidtimeconstantselected,the
temperaturereadingiscalculatedsomewherebetweenthefastandslowtime
constantvalues.
