PARSTAT MC Hardware Manual
PARSTAT MC Hardware Manual 52
To ensure reliable performance and long life of the PMC, optimum airflow must be maintained during
operation. The following precautions will assist in this regard:
Do not operate the PMC with missing modules or empty slots.
Figure 46. Warning against operating the PMC CHS08A with open slots.
Occasionally it may be necessary to remove a module for replacement while the instrument is operating.
This is acceptable as long as the time the instrument operates with an empty slot is minimal and the module
is replaced reasonably quickly.
Air enters the PMC in the front and along the sides near the bottom of the instrument, and exhausts through
the fans in the rear of the instrument. It is important not to block any intake or exhaust point on the
instrument and not to place the instrument closer than six inches to any obstruction such as a wall.
