9.1 General safety instructions
Maintenance may only be carried out by trained personnel!
● Only perform maintenance and repair work on the roller if it is static and secured
from rolling away.
● Secure the roller with the joint protection.
● Relieve pressure before working on the hydraulic pipes.
● Disconnect the battery before commencing work on the roller's electrical systems.
○ Cover the battery with isolating material or remove it completely. This does not
apply to work requiring an electric current.
○ In the event of injuries caused by acid, rinse immediately with clean water and
consult a doctor.
● Replace all protection devices properly after performing maintenance and repair
work.
DANGER
Danger to life through an unsafe work area!
• Always use an accident-proof support when working on a
raised roller.
• Never work below a roller which is only supported by a crane or
other electrical / hydraulic lifting device.
• Only stand under a raised roller if it has been mechanically se-
cured.
• Only use stable loading ramps suitable for the weight of the rol-
ler for loading.
• On transport vehicles, secure the roller from rolling off, slipping
to the side and tipping over.
DANGER
Gas poisoning through letting engine run in enclosed spaces!
• Do not leave the engine running in closed areas.
• If use of the roller in a confined space cannot be avoided, the
exhaust fumes must be extracted directly from the exhaust
pipe.
DANGER
Danger of scalding from hot water / steam!
• Never remove the expansion cap or radiator cap while the en-
gine is running or hot!
• First loosen the cap to the first stop to release the pressure.
Only then remove the cap.
