FUV Owner's Guide - 136
Cold Weather Storage
Storing your FUV for the winter in a non-heated garage is
not a problem, as long as:
l The temperature in the garage does not fall below
-4°F (-20°C).
l The FUV is drained to a 60% charge prior to
storage, and checked weekly. Charge it back up to
60% if it drops below 30%.
NOTE
To prevent battery damage, the FUV automatically
prevents the charger from charging at temperatures
below 32°F (0°C).
To avoid temperature related damage, drain the battery
to ~60% state of charge and keep it charged above 30%
through the winter at temperatures above -4°F (-20°C).
Hot Weather Storage
Storing your FUV in a non-cooled garage is not a problem,
as long as the ambient temperature in the garage does
not stay above 105°F (41°C).
Storing the FUV in very hot ambient temperatures may
result in accelerated permanent decay of battery
performance.
NOTE
Avoid exposing the FUV to temperatures above 140° F
(60° C) or below -22° F (-30° C) for more than 24 hours.
Store Indoors or Under Cover
Vinyl graphics and paint are degraded by prolonged
exposure to sun and atmospheric pollutants.
Whenever possible, store the FUV in a garage or at least
in a shaded area during the day.
At night, protect the FUV from dew or rain, which may
contain acidic pollutants (particularly in large
metropolitan areas). When a garage is not available,
consider using a cloth cover at night.
