SEAT BELTS
l The child sits all the way back against the seat back.
l The child’s knees bend comfortably at the edge of
the seat, and their feet reach the floorboards.
l The lap belt naturally rests below the child’s belly,
touching the top of their thighs.
l Both shoulder belts are centered across the child’s
shoulders and chest.
l The child is able to stay seated like this for the entire
planned trip.
l The child is at least 12 years old.
l The child weighs more than 88 lbs.
l The child is at least 4’–11” tall.
Never use the Seat Belt system for persons who weigh
less than 88 lbs or those who are less than 4’–11” tall,
regardless of age. Death or serious injury can occur.
