SBC-GX1 Windows XP Embedded Quickstart Transferring a new image to the SBC-GX1
Transfer an image onto the SBC-GX1. The way you do this varies, depending on
whether you have a CompactFlash adapter on your development system (see page
43
) or not (see page 44).
Add the XP boot loader to a CompactFlash module. See page 46
.
Assigning an IP address
If a DHCP server is not available, the IP address can be assigned by editing a
configuration file on the floppy. A text editor called ned is provided on the floppy to do
this. Follow these steps:
1 Boot from the floppy, then type:
ned \sockets\socket.cfg
2 Edit the line ip address 0.0.0.1 so that it shows the required address.
3 Save the file by pressing F9.
4 Exit and return to ROMDOS by holding down Alt and pressing F4.
The new IP address is used the next time the system is booted.
