Typing
Commands
for
Several
Objects
You
can
also
type
commands
so
that
several
files
or
folders
are
affected.
You
can
include
more
than
one
file
name
in
a
typed
command,
or
you
can
use
the
*
(wildcard)
character
to
specify
a
group
of
similarly
named
files.
For
example,
if
you
have
three
files
named
filel,
file2,
and
file3,
you
could
delete
them
from
the
current
folder
by
typing
the
command:
delete
filel
file2
file3
A
quicker
way
to
delete
the
three
files
would
be
to
type
the
command:
delete
file*
This
command
is
equivalent
to
saying,
"delete
all
the
files
in
the
current
folder
with
names
that
start
with
file."
Using
the
*
character
in
a
file
name
when
you
type
a
command
means
the
command
affects
all
files
in
the
current
folder
with
names
that
start
with
the
letters
before
the
*.
The
*
character
must
be
used
with
caution,
because
it
is
easy
to
specify
more
files
than
you
intend.
For
example,
the
delete
file*
command
above
could
easily
delete
more
than
the
three
files
filel,
file2,
and
file3.
If
the
current
folder
had
files
named
file4,
filelO,
and
file_today,
these
files
would
also
be
deleted.
