Installation of Voice Compression Modules (VCM)
The IP403 and 406 can support one VCM5, 10 or 20 but not the VCM30. The IP412 can support two
VCMs of any type. VCMs are fitted to as follows:
1. CAUTION - While installing, ensure that you wear a ground wrist strap that is connected to a
suitable grounding point.
2. Remove the three fixing screws on the rear of cover.
3. Turn the unit over and remove the four fixing screws from the base.
4. Slide the cover from the unit.
5. Mount the VCM in position as shown below and secure with the two snap-in spacers. The IP412
can support a second VCM; the first module can be mounted in either position.
6. Replace cover and secure with the seven fixing screws.
