5.1.2 Manual cleaning/disinfecting
¾ Apply cleaning and disinfectant solution.
¾ Wipe away cleaning and disinfectant solution with a sponge or cloth
that has been moistened in clean water.
¾ Inspect surfaces, cavities, lumens and openings for visible debris. If
necessary, repeat the cleaning/disinfection process.
¾ Dry the product with a lint-free cloth.
5.1.3 Control, care and inspection
¾ Inspect the product after each cleaning and disinfecting cycle to be
sure it is clean, functional and undamaged.
5.1.4 Storage
¾ Store reprocessed products under conditions as germ-free as possible,
in a dry, dark, cool and dust-protected room.
5.2 Processing the microspeed® uni motors GD674,
GD676, GD677, GD678, GD679 and motor cables
GD672 and GD673
5.2.1 Preparations
¾ Prior to first mechanical cleaning/disinfection: Mount ECCOS® storage
device GB578R (for GD674, GD676, GD677, GD678, GD679) and
GB689R (for GD672, GD673) in a suitable basket tray (e.g. JF214R).
¾ Mount the storage devices in such a way that the cables can be coiled
in a circle with a bending radius of not less than 10 cm. Do not kink
the cables.
¾ Separate the motor from the motor cable prior to reprocessing.
¾ Carry out non-fixating/NaCl-free pre-cleaning immediately after use.
¾ Remove all attached components such as adapters, tubes, etc.
¾ Reprocess the product immediately after use.
¾ Do not clean the product by ultrasound treatment under any
circumstances.
¾ Put away the product in dry condition.
5.2.2 Cleaning/Disinfection
¾ Use cleaning/disinfecting agents that are suitable for the product.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding
concentration, temperature and exposure time.
¾ Avoid encrustation of residues/proteins (e.g. caused by aldehyde/
alcohol).
¾ Only use bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal disinfecting agents.
¾ Preferably use thermal disinfecting processes.
CAUTION
Damage to the product due to inappropriate cleaning/
disinfecting agents and/or excessive temperatures!
¾ Only use cleaning and disinfecting agents that do not
affect softeners (e.g. silicone), according to the
manufacturers’ instructions for use.
¾ Do not exceed the maximum allowable cleaning
temperature of 55 °C.
