Ending an OMR reading session & storing Best Read Locations
At the end of a reading session, the following procedure must be followed to store Best
Read Locations. An active data connection (Wi-Fi, Cellular, LAN) is required.
If the reading session is NOT finished and meter reader will continue reading the next day
OR will review open Investigate items the STOP option should be used. Any Investigate
items will remain open and available as active field assignments.
1. Confirm data connection is active on the reading device (tablet/laptop).
2. Click STOP button.
3. Log out of OMR.
4. Close web browser window to exit current browser session.
If reading session is finished and meter reader will not review open Investigate items as
part of his/her next reading session, the session should be completed.
1. Confirm Data Connection is active on the reading device (tablet or laptop).
2. Click COMPLETE button. Open INVESTIGATE items will be transitioned to a
completed status.
3. Log out of OMR.
4. Close web browser window to exit current browser session.
WARNING: The newest “best read location” will not be saved if the above procedures are
not followed.
When taking breaks during the OMR reading session, the session can stay open or just
close the browser and shut down the reading device to conserve battery life. Upon startup,
connect all external components and open the browser and ensure OMR is started and
GPS and ORION receiver/transceiver are operating.
