4.6 LAN connection
About LAN connection
The B ase Unit can be c onnected to a local network or directly to a laptop. For normal oper ation, a LAN connection is not nec essary.
The LAN connection can be used:
•tocongur e your ClickShare un it
to update the software
for maintenance purposes
to pow er your ClickShare via Power on Ethernet, if your LAN network supports that function.
How to connect
1. Insert a network c able with RJ-45 connector into the LAN port.
2. Connect the other side to a LAN.
4.7 Power connection
About power
The Base unit can be powered in two ways
Via Ethernet when the LAN n etwork supports Power on Ethernet.
Via an external p ower adapter.
Once the Base unit is powered, it starts up. Then the power button can be used to switch on or off.
How to connect the external power adapter.
1. Plug the barrel connector of the po wer adapter into the power input of the B ase unit.
2. Slide a power input adaptor piece (US, CN, EU or UK ) on the pow er adapter of the ClickShare Link . Use the one which is
applicable in your country.
