10-12
Mode = LOGI
The
General
and
Specific Parameters
for
LOGI
are the same as for
LSV
,
with two exceptions.
a)
Scan Rates
are only allowed in
µ
V/S, since very slow scan rates are
generally used for
LOGI
experiments. The range for
Scan Rate
is 1 to
51200.
b) The default
Sensitivity
is set to Auto; that is, automatic current ranging.
This is used because of the wide range of current values generally
measured in
LOGI
experiments.
Graphics Menu
Single Graph
displays the log (absolute current) vs. potential plot.
Analysis Menu
The
Auto
option for
Results Graph
displays the log (absolute current) vs.
potential plot and the minimum potential (Min E) and the log I at this
potential are listed in the
Main
window.
Tafel slopes and intercepts can be measured using the
Manual
option. The
user must define the slope of the line by specifying two X values on the plot.
In addition, the axis for the intercept must be defined (by clicking any point
along this axis). This axis is generally the line E = Emin.
Mode = CYCLE
The
General
and
Specific Parameters
for
CYCLE
are the same as those for
CV
, except that there is no data acquisition or handling parameters. The
analog-to-digital conversion function is disabled, but the analog current-to-
voltage converter is connected, and the output is sent to the Iout jack on the
rear panel of the BAS 100B. If the current is not being recorded, it is
advisable to adjust the
Sensitivity
to 100 mA/V to avoid saturation. If the
current is being recorded (e.g., on an XY recorder), the
Sensitivity
must be
adjusted appropriately.
