Selecting a station
Diversity function
To ensure the best possible reception,
this radio has an RDS diversity function,
i.e. it is equipped with two separate
VHF receivers. One of these supplies
the selected station (FM), the other
searches continuously for other fre-
quencies which are transmitting the
same station, and for RDS stations
which can be received (FMD).
If the reception quality of the selected
station deteriorates, but no alternative
frequency can be found, the frequency
last selected appears on the screen.
Some radio stations transmit at very
low power and therefore have only a
limited range; furthermore, if they only
operate on a single frequency, RDS and
diversity will be unable to find a signal
offering better-quality reception.
The FMD memory level lists the
stations offering the best recep-
tion on each waveband. A station can
be selected from this list and memo-
rised with a button of your
choice (1…6), see page 54.<
Manual station selection
To search for a specific station by name
or by frequency.
1. Call up selection menu
2. Select "m Manual station choice"
with the right-hand rotary control
3. Select a station
Press once or hold pressed in
or
Turn right-hand rotary control until
the desired station is shown.
Sampling and selecting (Scan)
Scan station search automatically plays
a brief sample of stations with a strong
reception signal, one after the other.
1. Call up selection menu
2. Select "SCAN Station sample" with
the right-hand rotary control.
The station search is started
3. Select a station
The scan function is halted and the
selected station is retained.
