Selecting TV channels
3. Turn the right-hand rotary control to
start channel search.
Channel search is halted when a
channel with a sufficiently strong sig-
nal is located on a reception channel.
If this channel has already been
memorised, the preset number is
shown at the bottom left of the
screen; otherwise you will be invited
to store the channel.
If no television channels can be
found, select the correct TV for-
mat via the list of countries. Selecting
TV format, see page 67.
If the picture quality is poor, this is be-
cause the direct line of sight between
the transmitter and receiver is ob-
structed by large buildings or topo-
graphical features.
If reception quality deteriorates further,
a search procedure starts automati-
cally. If the word "MUTE" appears on
screen, this indicates that TV sound has
been switched off ("muted") to prevent
distorted sound reproduction from be-
ing heard in the car.<
Selecting a specific channel
If you wish to call up a specific channel
that has already been memorised:

1. Turn or press right-hand rotary
control.

2. Select "Program"
3. Turn right-hand rotary control to se-
lect the desired channel.
The "AV" channel (video) cannot
be used on this set.<
Sampling and selecting channels
(Scan)
Scan channel search automatically
plays a brief sample of the memorised
channels, one after the other.
1. Turn or press right-hand rotary con-
trol.

2. Select "Program"
3. Hold right-hand rotary control
pressed until a display such as the
following one appears:
4. Press right-hand rotary control.
The scan function is halted and the
selected channel is retained.
