5.7 Official testing
This function provides program-driven testing of all the
vehicle headlamps. The test data can be transferred to
the PC via the connected cable.
! Devices with a trolley must be individually aligned for
each headlamp using the alignment laser.
! For further information on incorporation into a
network, contact a Beissbarth Service engineer.
! The inclination of the headlamp cut-off must be in
accordance with legal requirements:
$ For low beams max. 80 cm from the ground, the
inclination must be at least 1 %.
$ For low beams more than 80 cm from the ground,
the inclination must be at least 1.5 %.
Official test procedure:
1. Read off the cut-off inclination specified by the
manufacturer (e.g. 1.2 %) from the top of the
headlamp.
2. Set the scale ring accordingly on the light box.
3. Enter the type of vehicle: CAR or MOTORCYCLE
4. Enter the plate number with the "UP" and "DOWN"
arrow keys. The plate number is printed out with
the report (optional printer in device). If this is not
required (no entry), press Enter at the end of the
line.
5. Enter the inclination of the low beam with the "UP"
and "DOWN" arrow keys. The inclination is printed
out with the report (optional printer in device). If
entry of the plate number is not required, terminate
input at the end of the line by pressing the Enter key.
"Check the low beam headlamp as described in
Sec.4.6.1.
"Then check the high beam headlamp as described in
Sec.4.6.2.
"If applicable: Check the fog lamp as described in
Sec.4.6.3.
! The headlamps cannot be tested simultaneously.
After testing the first headlamp, proceed to the next
headlamp by pressing the "Enter" key.
5.8 Service menu
Various headlamp test settings can be made in the
service menu. Select "SERVICE" in the main menu and
confirm with "Enter".
The service menu provides the following options:
