MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
NOTICE
Engine oil and oil filter
must be replaced at the same time.
1. Bring engine to its normal operating
temperature.
2. Place vehicle on a level surface.
3. Remove the LH side panel.
4. Remove the drive belt guard. Re-
fer to
CONTROLS, INSTRUM ENTS
AND EQUIPMENT
section.
5. Remove dipstick.

1. Oil tank dipstick
6. Remove
OIL FILTER
, see procedure
in this subsection.
7. From underneath vehicle, clean
drainplugareaandremoveplas-
tic cap.

1. Frame opening to reach drain plug
8. Place a drain pan under frame open-
ing.
9. Remove engine oil drain plug and
discard sealing wa
sher.
10. Allow oil to drain completely.
11. Install NEW s ea ling washer and
O-ring on oil drain plug.
NOTICE
Never u se a sealing
washer a second time. Always re-
place with a new one.

12. Install drain plug and tighten to
specification.
TIGHTENING TORQUE
Drain plug 30 N•m (22 lbf•ft)
13. Install a new
OIL FILTER
, see pro-
cedure in this subsection.
14. Refill oil tank at the proper level
with the recommended oil.
APPROXIMATE ENGINE OIL
CAPACITY (WITH FILTER)
3.5 L (3.7 qt (U.S. liq.))
15. Reinstall dipstick in oil tank.
16. Start engine and let it idle for a few
minutes.
17. Ensure there are no leaks.
18. Stop engine and check
oil level as
explained in this subsection. Refill
as necessary.
19. Dispose oil and filter as per your lo-
cal environmental regulations.
