You are now ready to transfer the desired data to a com-
puter (see the relevant application software’s user manu-
al).

5.5 Setting Up to be Controlled by a
Computer
Warning! When connecting the analyzer to the computer, en-
sure that both the computer and the analyzer are switched
off. Otherwise the instruments could be damaged.
You can set-up the analyzer to be controlled from PC software
like Brüel&Kjær's Windows
®
–based software packages for
post-processing and reporting (Noise Explorer Type7815 for
data management and reporting, Evaluator Type7820 for Com-
munity Noise calculations, Protector Type7825 for calculating
Personal Noise Exposure or Qualifier Type7830 for calculating
Building and Room Acoustics parameters).
1. Connect the computer to the analyzer as shown in Fig.5.2.
2. Start the post-processing software.
3. Configure the COM port and Baud Rate as described in
the post-processing software.
4. Set
Baud Rate in the Set-up, PC Commun. menu to match
the Baud Rate set on the PC.
5. Now the post-processing software has control over the
analyzer.
