5.2 Installation of the minispec mq20 Toothpaste Analyzer
The minispec mq-Series consists of 2 units plus a control PC:
• Magnet Unit, containing the magnet system and the probe assembly
• Electronic Control Unit with the NMR electronics
• Standard PC user interface for measurement control, data processing, etc.

A number of optional accessories can be added and adapted for use: electronic balances,
auto sampler, temperature control baths and variable temperature control units, etc.
5.2.1 Unpacking the System
When unpacking the instrument ensure that all components listed in the packing list are part
of the delivery.
CAUTION
Danger of property damage due to improper handling.
The shipping container must remain in an upright position at all times. It has two
compartments separated by a wooden plate: an upper part, which contains the Electronic
Control Unit, and a lower part containing the Magnet Unit. The magnet unit is secured to the
shipping container from below with four bolts.
u DO NOT tilt the container when removing these bolts.
CAUTION
Accident or material damage hazard from falling or tilting instrument
Instrument may fall down or tilt during installation, retrofitting, dismantling, or while moving
on a cart.
u Use the carrying handles during lifting.
u When a table or cart is used, it should meet the requirements in the pre-installation
manual.
u The instrument should be secured to the cart or table.
