Troubleshooting and Maintenance
- 4.4 - SMART WARP
Machine Test
After the installation and/or after setting new control parameters on the SMART
WARP system, depending on your needs, perform a machine test operating as
follows:
1. Turn on the machine.
2. Start a learning cycle (LEARN) pressing simultaneously ENTER and RESET.
During the learning cycle, pay attention not to touch the yarns and
not to stop the machine.
3. At the end of the learning cycle the SMART WARP must automatically start
the control phase (CONTROL nnnn displayed), where nnn indicates the number
of sensors learnt with running yarn.
4. If frequent stops occur during the control phase, check the set parameters, in
particular “BROKE, UNCUT, SENS, DELAY” and repeat the learning cycle.
5. Check the correct operation of the system without threading the yarns through
the IS3 sensors.
The SMART terminal must stop the machine when a given yarn starts to work,
showing on the display the corresponding sensor number. Thread the yarn inside
the sensor and press RESET to clear the error.
Repeat the operation on all the yarns.
Ordinary Maintenance
The SMART WARP system does not require special maintenance interventions.
Although it is important to periodically clean the sensors and the terminal
according to the environment conditions in which the system operates.
The IS3 sensors are equipped with an automatic compensation function, which
allows the detection features to remain unaffected even when some traces of dirt
are present.
However, it is suggested to clean the sensors periodically.
For cleaning purposes, do not use solvent, but rather a soft cloth
dampened with neutral detergent or alcohol.
Repairs
Any repair intervention on the
SMART WARP
terminal or the SM-
DIN modules must be carried out by skilled personnel from BTSR.
Any intervention attempt by non authorised personnel, voids the
warranty terms.
