cidentaloperations.)

Toaccessorexittheoperator’scompartment,theleft-
handcontrolarmmustbeintheraisedposition.Never
forgetthisbasicrequirement.
•
Neverleavetheoperator'scompartmentwhiletheen-
gineisrunning.
•
Togetinoroutofthecab,itisimperativethattheup-
perstructureframeisinlinewiththeundercarriage.
•
Dust,smoke,ormistcanreducevisibilityandcausean
accident.Reducespeedorcometoacompletehalt
untilvisibilityhasimproved.
•
Neverjumpdownfromthemachine.Whenyouexit
themachineortheupperstructure,alwaysfacethema-
chineandusethestepsandaccesshandles.
•
Intheeventofanoperatingproblemorfailure,move
themachinetoasafeplace,lowertheattachmenttothe
ground,shutdowntheengine,andremovetheignition
key.Locatetheproblem,reportitifnecessary,andtake
thenecessarystepstowarnothersnottoattemptto
operatethemachine.
•
Beforetiltingtheseatbackforward,itismandatoryto
raisethearmreststoavoidanyaccidentaloperationof
thecontrollevers.
•
Neverturnthekeyofthebatterymasterswitchto“O”
(Off)positionwhenengineisrunning.Theelectrical
systemscanbedamaged.
•
Whentheengineisstopped,alwayswaitthreeminutes
minimumbeforeyouplacethekeyofthebatterymaster
switchin“O”(Off)position,otherwisetheprogramof
themachinecontrollerswillnotexitsuccessfully.
Preventingriskscausedbyvibrations
Themachine'svibrationaffectsthecomfortandinsome
casesthehealthandsafetyoftheoperator.Toreduce
vibrationriskstoaminimum:
1.Makesurethatthemachine,theequipment,andthe
toolaresuitablefortheworktobecarriedout.
2.Makesurethatthemachineisingoodconditionand
thatservicingintervalsarecompliedwith.
3.Checkthetracktensionadjustmentandtheplayin
equipmentlinkages.
4.Makesurethattheoperator'sseatandadjustment
controlsareingoodconditionandthenadjusttheseat
tosuittheoperator'ssizeandweight.
Duringwork:
1.Operateallcontrolsgraduallytoensuresmoothma-
chineoperation.
2.Modifythemachine'soperationtosuittheworking
conditions.
3.Duringtravel,adjustthemachine'sspeed,reducingit
ifnecessary.
4.Makesurethatthemachine'soperatingradiusisin
goodcondition,andfreeofobstaclesandholes.
Quickcoupler(optional)
•
Neverplacethecontrolswitchintheunlockedposition
whenthemachineisworking.
•
Eachtimeabucketisinstalledonthequickcoupler,
closethebucketandraisetheattachmentsoastobe
abletomakeavisualcheckthatthebucketpiniscor-
rectlyengagedinthelatchinghook.
•
Thequickcouplermodiestheworkingrangeofthe
machine.Incertainattachmentpositionsthetoolmay
damagethemachine.Alwaysleaveasafedistance
betweenthequickcouplerandthemachine..
•
Nevercarryoutloadhandlingusingthefrontorrear
anchoringpointsusedtoinstallthetoolonthequick
coupler.
•
Neverputyourhandsinsidethequickcoupler.Never
attempttoadjustorrepairthequickcoupleriftheen-
gineisrunning.
Parkingthemachine
Whenparkingthemachine,proceedasfollows:
1.Positionthemachineonat,levelground,awayfrom
softground,excavations,orpoorlyshoredcavities.
2.Placetheupper-structureandtheattachmentinline
withtheundercarriage,retracttheattachment,anddig
thebucketintotheground.
3.Lowerthedozerblade(ifequipped)untilitrestsonthe
ground.
4.Placethegatelockleverincentralpositionbefore
leavingtheoperator’scompartment.
5.Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkey.
6.Lockthecabdoor.
7.Makesurethatthehoodsanddoorsareproperly
latched.
