6-MAINTENANCE
Toadjustthebelttensionproceedasfollows:
1.Removethelockingscrew(1).
2.Removethelockingscrew(2).
3.Usetheadjustingscrew(3)tomovethealter-
natoroutwardsuntilthebelttensioniscorrect.
4.Tightenthealternatormountingbolts(1)and
(2).

NOTE:Ifthebeltisdamaged,"ALTERNATOR"isdisplayedonthemessagescreen.
Toreplacethebeltproceedasfollows:
1.Stoptheengine.
2.Removethekeyfromthestarterswitch.
3.Removethelockingscrews(1).
4.Removethelockingscrews(2).
5.Usetheadjustingscrew(3)topushthealter-
natorinwards.
6.Removethewornbelt.
7.Installanewbelt.
8.Usetheadjustingscrew(3)toadjustthebelt.
9.Tightenthelockingscrews(1)and(2)again.
10.Runtheengineforabout1h,thencheckthe
belttensionagain.
11.Setthedeectiontobeintherange7.7-8.7
mm(0.303-0.343in).
