If your installation site allows rear access to the chassis, you can install the
supplemental ground connection after the chassis is mounted. However, if you
will not be able to access the rear of the unit after it is mounted, you will need
to install the supplemental ground connection before mounting the chassis in
the cabinet or frame.
See “To Install Supplemental Ground” on page 2-18 for a procedure.
10 Gigabit Ethernet Module(s)
The 10 Gigabit Ethernet module is an optional module. Table 2-1 provides a
summary of the available modules.
All of the 10 Gigabit Modules provide two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports with XFP
connectors. These option modules both support standard and synchronous
Ethernet. The 10 Gigabit Ethernet Pluggable Option modules are not hot
swappable. The system must be powered down to install or replace these
modules.
When only one module is being installed, it can be installed in either slot.
Functionality is determined by the module type, and not the slot it is installed
in.
