1 Remove power from the 5150 by disabling input power to both PS A and
PS B.
The PWR LED on the front of the 5150 is now off and the unit is unpowered.
2 Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the filler plate in
place.

When the 5150 is powered on, the 10 Gigabit Ethernet option module will
initialize after it is installed. Initialization will be shown by a blinking green
Status LED. For more information see “10 Gigabit Ethernet Pluggable Module

• PS B — Status LED is solid green, Input LED is solid green
• PWR — solid green

Optic” on page 2-27.
CAUTION: Operating the 5150 without either the module(s) or the filler plate(s)
installed will result in airflow issues and is not recommended. Ensure that the
10 Gigabit Ethernet Option Modules or the filler plates for these slots are installed
before using the system.
