Note: If the 10 Gigabit Ethernet modules are not installed, the filler plates
must remain in place on the faceplate of the chassis.
Both 10 Gigabit Modules provide two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports with XFP
connectors. These option modules both support standard and synchronous
Ethernet.
The extended features version of the module is hardware capable of a number
of advanced features such as:
• PBB-TE tunneling and optimization protocols
• hardware acceleration for AT&T TWAMP, 802.1ag CFM CCMs and Y.1731
management and performance measurement messages
Note: These advanced features require SAOS Release 6.10.1.
The 10 Gigabit Ethernet Pluggable Option modules are not hot swappable.
The system must be powered down to install or replace these modules.
When you buy the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Pluggable Option module you will need
to order the XFPs separately. The list of supported XFPs is documented in
Packet Networking Transceivers Reference (009-2011-602). The XFPs that
are installed in this module are hot swappable.

Power Supply Modules
The 5150 uses two power supply modules. The power supplies are redundant
in the event of a failure. However, since the system cooling is provided by
integrated fans in the power modules, both modules need to be installed to
operate the system. An overview of the power supply modules is included in
39XX/51XX Product Fundamentals. An overview of the power specifications
is included in Table 6-1 on page 6-1.
Note: When two power supplies are installed, use power supplies of the
same type. Do not combine AC and DC power supplies in the same
installation. This is an untested configuration and is not supported.
CAUTION: Operating the 5150 without either the module(s) or the filler plate(s)
installed will result in airflow issues and is not recommended. Ensure that the
10 Gigabit Ethernet Option Modules or the filler plates for these slots are installed
before using the system.
