To Install the 10 Gigabit Option Modules
Note: The 10 Gigabit Ethernet Pluggable Option modules are not hot
swappable. The system must be powered down to install or replace these
modules.
Step Action
1 Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the filler plate in
place.
2 Set aside the filler plate and screws.
3 Remove the 10 Gigabit Ethernet module from the packaging and inspect for
damage.
4 Gently slide the module into the exposed slot. See Figure 2-3.

5 Secure the module in place using the two captive screws on the left and right
side of the module.
6 If you are only installing one module, the procedure is complete. If you are
installing a second module, repeat step 1 to step 5.
You have installed the 10 Gigabit Ethernet module(s).
CAUTION: Operating the 5150 without either the module(s) or the filler plate(s)
installed will result in airflow issues and is not recommended. Ensure that the 10
Gigabit Ethernet Option Modules or the filler plates for these slots are installed before
using the system.
