9 Verify the power supply LEDs. The following LED indications should be
present on the 5150:
PS A - Status LED is solid green, Input LED is solid green
PS B - Status LED is solid green, Input LED is solid green
PWR - solid green
Note: The system does not distinguish between a faulty and an unpowered
supply. As a result, if redundant power supplies are installed, but only one
supply is connected to a power source, the unpowered supply will cause the
system to report an alarm state (ALRM LED solid yellow and STAT LED off).
This alarm will be cleared when the power supply is properly initialized.
Note: The system can operate with only one power supply receiving power.
But both power supplies must be installed. Power from the backplane of the
chassis will be used to activate the fans in the unpowered supply and assist
with cooling the 5150.
The power supply has now been replaced and the system has been
returned to full redundant power supply status.
