LE-3xx/LE-4xx Hardware Installation & User Guide
INTERCONNECTIVITY
include tag information, the VLAN membership of the ingress port is used as the VLAN ID. If an
incoming traffic flow does not match any configured QoS entries, the flow is placed into a
default traffic queue based upon its egress port.
IGMP
Internet Gateway Management Protocol (IGMP) is used to support IP multicasting. Defined in RFC
1112, IGMP defines how hosts and routers within the same network establish membership in
multicast group streams. The use of IGMP allows the LE-4xx SCS to limit the broadcast of
multicast streams without user intervention.
Power and Redundancy
The LE-310 is only available as an AC-powered device. The LE-311, LE-311v, LE-327, and LE-427
feature hot-swappable power supplies. One power supply is required for normal operation while
a second power supply can be added for redundancy. These removable power supplies can be
ordered as either AC or DC devices.
Link Aggregation
This standard defines how two or more Ethernet connections can be combined to provide load
sharing, load balancing, and provide better reliability for high-traffic network connections.
The standard also provides inherent, automatic redundancy on point-to-point links. This is
accomplished by dynamically redirecting traffic from a failed port (in a multi-port application)
across the remaining good ports in the link.
