ElectronicStabilityControl(ESC)incorporating
thefollowingsystems:
- anti-lockbrakingsystem(ABS)andthe
electronicbrakeforcedistribution(EBFD),
- emergencybrakingassistance,
- tractioncontrol(TRC),
- dynamicstabilitycontrol(DSC).
Electronicstabilitycontrol(ESC)
Definitions
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
and electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD)
Thesesystemsimprovethestabilityand
manoeuvrabilityofyourvehiclewhenbraking
andcontributetowardsbettercontrolin
corners,inparticularonpoororslipperyroad
surfaces.
TheABSpreventswheellockintheeventof
emergencybraking.
Theelectronicbrakeforcedistributionsystem
managesthebrakingpressurewheelbywheel.
Emergency braking assistance
Inanemergency,thissystemenablesyouto
reachtheoptimumbrakingpressuremore
quicklyandthereforereducethestopping
distance.
Itistriggeredaccordingtothespeedatwhich
thebrakepedalispressed.Thisisfeltbya
reductionintheresistanceofthepedalandan
increaseintheeffectivenessofthebraking.
Traction control (TRC)
Thissystemoptimisestractioninordertolimit
wheelslipbyactingonthebrakesofthedriving
wheelsandontheengine.Italsoimproves
thedirectionalstabilityofthevehicleon
acceleration.
Dynamic stability control (DSC)
Ifthereisadifferencebetweenthepath
followedbythevehicleandthatrequiredbythe
driver,thissystemmonitorseachwheeland
automaticallyactsonthebrakeofoneormore
wheelsandontheenginetoreturnthevehicle
totherequiredpath,withinthelimitsofthelaws
ofphysics.
