Hill start assist
Systemwhichkeepsyourvehicleimmobilised
temporarily(approximately2seconds)when
startingonagradient,thetimeittakesto
moveyourfootfromthebrakepedaltothe
acceleratorpedal.
Thissystemonlyoperateswhen:
- thevehicleiscompletelystationary,with
yourfootonthebrakepedal,
- certainconditionsofslopearemet,
- withthedriver’sdoorclosed.
Thehillstartassistsystemcannotbe
deactivated.
On an ascending slope, with the vehicle
stationary, the vehicle is held momentarily
when you release the brake pedal:
- ifyouareinfirstgearorneutralwitha
manualgearbox,
- ifyouareinpositionE or M with an ETG
electronicgearbox.
Operation
On a descending slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged,
the vehicle is held momentarily when you
release the brake pedal.
Operating fault
Ifafaultinthesystemoccurs,this
warninglampcomeson.Contact
aCITROËNdealeroraqualified
workshoptohavethesystem
checked.
Donotexitthevehiclewhileitisbeing
heldinthehillstartassistphase.
Ifyouneedtoexitthevehiclewiththe
enginerunning,applytheparkingbrake
manually.
