Checkinglevels
Takecarewhenworkingunderthe
bonnet,ascertainareasoftheengine
maybeextremelyhot(riskofburns)and
thecoolingfancouldstartatanytime
(evenwiththeignitionoff).
Engine oil level
Thecheckoftheoilleveliscarried
outwiththedipstick,locatedunder
thebonnet.Forthepositionofthe
dipstick,refertotheunder-bonnet
viewonapreviouspage.
Checking with dipstick
Checkalloftheselevelsregularly,inlinewiththemanufacturer'sserviceschedule.Topthemupifnecessary,unlessotherwiseindicated.
Ifaleveldropssignificantly,havethecorrespondingsystemcheckedbyaCITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
Toensuretheaccuracyofthereading,
yourvehiclemustbeonalevel
surface,withtheengineoffforatleast
30minutes.
Itisnormaltotopuptheoillevelbetween
twoservices(oroilchanges).CITROËN
recommendsthatyoucheckthelevel,andtop
upifnecessary,every3000miles(5000km).
IfyoufindthattheoillevelisabovetheAmark
or below the Bmark,do not start the engine.
- IfthelevelisabovetheMAXmark(risk
ofenginedamage),contactaCITROËN
dealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
- IfthelevelisbelowtheMINmark,you
musttop-uptheengineoil.
Refertotheunder-bonnetviewforthelocation
ofthedipstickonyourvehicle.
F Takethedipstickbyitscolouredgripand
pullitoutcompletely.
F Withtheendofthedipstickwithaclean
andnon-fluffycloth.
F Refitthedipstickandpushitfullydown,
thenpullitoutagainforavisualcheckof
theoillevel:thelevelmustbebetweenthe
twomarksAandB.
