Dual operation
In the scenario below, an EXPLORER 540 LTE Modem is used to provide connection to a
cellular network while the BGAN connection is used for backup. Power is supplied from a
separate battery connected to the DC input of the EXPLORER 540, in order to provide enough
power for both the EXPLORER 540 and the LTE Modem.

(X4) on page 116.
• For installation instructions, see the supplied EXPLORER 540 Installation guide. Note that
you must use a fused or current-limiting DC power supply (battery).
