Chapter 3 Principle Introduction
3.1 Overview
3.1.1 Monitor Introduction
The N-series monitors are used for monitoring vital sign parameters such as electrocardiogram (ECG),
respiration (RESP), oxygen saturation (SpO
2
), non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), invasive blood pressure
(IBP), carbon dioxide (CO
2
), and body temperature (TEMP). This product is used for monitoring the vital signs
of patients.
3.1.2 System Composition
N-series monitor system consists of main unit, accessories and system software. The main unit, which serves as
the heart of the entire system, primarily implements the following tasks:
■ System power supply
■ Measurement of physiological parameters
■ Display
■ Sound, light and text triple alarms
■ User controls and inputs
■ External communications and expansion interface
■ Printing and recording
■ Connection to central monitoring system
