Sequence of operation for
Programming the 2 Speed Door Operator
P.N. 772073 REV 005
WARNING: After installing the lift and 2 speed doors, the 2 SPEED DOOR OPERATOR functions F8 and F7
must be programmed to ensure proper and safe operation. Until F8 has been programmed the doors do not know
where the fully open position is and may slam at full speed into the open-end stop when attempting to reach the
fully open position. Several other functions, F0 through F6 may be left at the factory settings but may also be
adjusted to fine tune speeds to the customer’s preference.
First step:
Place the TEST/RUN toggle switch in TEST position, use the OPEN and CLOSE test buttons to ensure that the 2
Speed Doors are working properly and can come close to the fully open position. Return the door to the fully
closed position. Press the FUNCTION and VALUE buttons together to enter the program mode.
Second step:
Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until F8 is displayed, then press and hold the STORE button until the
door starts to open, then release the STORE button. The micro will continue to open the door slowly by itself until
the door reaches a point where it can go no further, then it will stop the open movement of the door and wait
there. (NOTE
: The new programmed fully open position will be aprox. 1 in. before the point the door was
considered stopped. This space is left to allow for overtravel of the door due to faster opening speeds and will be
further adjusted by modifying the F7 function after the speed functions have been adjusted.) At this point, the
doors can be used with the factory set values. If the factory values for the speeds are acceptable, proceed to
STEP 4; if the speed values need adjustment continue to STEP 3.
Third step:
The speed functions may now be adjusted. Press the VALUE button repeatedly to cycle through the function
numbers, once you have reached the function you wish to change, press and hold the FUNCTION button, while
holding the FUNCTION button, press the VALUE button repeatedly to cycle through the speeds available, once
you have set the value to the desired speed press the STORE button to lock the value in the memory. (NOTE
: If
you leave the function without pressing STORE, any changes you made will be lost.) Any changes can be tried
after being stored in the memory without leaving the program mode by using the OPEN and CLOSE buttons.
Fourth step:
F7 is adjusted at this point. It is the fine adjustment for the door fully open position. Each increment of this function
will open the door aprox. 1/8
th
in. past the programmed fully open position. This adjustment is used to close up
any of the unused allotted motor overtravel space. (NOTE: If the F7 value is set too high, the door may never be
able to reach the programmed door fully open position. If this occurs the door will re-close aprox. ½ in. then retry
to open. It will try 10 times. If this happens, stop pressing the OPEN BUTTON and decrease the F7 value.
Fifth step:
Place the TEST/RUN toggle switch in the RUN position and operate the door from the cab controls to be sure the
unit is working properly.
