MAINTENANCE
AIR CLEANER (CLEANING THE AIR CLEANER)
When cleaning the air cleaner, take care to make sure it does not become obstructed and that no dirt gets into
the engine, especially when using the vehicle in dusty areas.
Without fail, inspect the air cleaner before and after each use, as indicated in the service chart (see page 39).
Cleaning the air cleaner
1. Release the latches (1) that hold the air cleaner cover.
2. Remove the air cleaner cartridge (2).
3. Clean with compressed air, from the inside toward the outside.
RECOMMENDATION:
Do not apply air at an excessive pressure, to avoid tearing the air cleaner paper which could result in
severe engine damage.
Recommended air pressure between 42 - 71 PSI / 0.29 - 0.49 MPA / 3 - 5 KGF/cm

DANGER
THESE OPERATIONS MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE APPROPRIATE PRECAUTION,
USING A MASK AND GOGGLES.
4. Clean the inside of the air cleaner housing (3), with a damp cloth.
5. Replace the air cleaner cartridge if it is very dirty, wet or deteriorated.
WARNING
A CLOGGED AIR CLEANER ALLOWS DIRT INTO THE ENGINE, CAUSING EXCESSIVE
WEAR AND DAMAGING IT. A CLOGGED OR DAMAGED AIR FILTER CAN CAUSE SEVERE
ENGINE DAMAGE.
