Brakes
Themainfunctionofthebrakesistosloworstopthemotorcycle.Thebrakesconsistofthefrontand
rearbrakesandtheircontrols.Bothfrontandrearbrakesarehydraulically‐actuatedsinglediskbrakes.
Thefrontbrakeisoperatedbytherighthandandtherearbrakeis
operatedbytherightfoot.

InspectingandReplacingtheBrakePads
Thefrontandreardiskbrakesutilizedualpistoncalipers.Youshouldreplacethebrakepadswhen
eitheronehaslessthan1.5mmofpadthicknessleft,orifthebrakepadsarewornsuchthatthegroove
inthepadisnolongervisible.CSCstocksthebrakepads(callusat9094450900).
Toremovetherearbrakepads,loosentherearbrakecaliperAllenbolts asshowninthephotosbelow.
Removetheboltssecuringthecalipertotheswingarm.Onetherearcaliper
boltsareremoved,slidethe
caliperrearward,liftitoffofthediskrotor,andthenremovetheAllenboltsholdingthebrakepadsin
place.
OncethecaliperAllenboltsareremoved,thepadswillslideout.Notethatthepadsarenotidentical;
theymustbeinstalledinthecorrectorientation.Thepadwiththelargearm(showninthephotoabove)
isoppositethepistons;thepadwithoutthelargearmissituated
againstthepistons.
