Suspension
Thesuspensionsubsystemincludestheforks,therearshockabsorber,andtheswingarm.
Forks
Thefrontforksofthismotorcycleareaninvertedhydraulicspringdesign.Whenthefrontwheel
receivesirregularitiesintheroadandmovesup,dampingoilinsidetheforksflowsupwardthroughtiny
holes.Thisprovidesdamping.
Checktheperformanceoftheforksandinspectforleaks.Promptinspection
andmaintenanceshould
begiventotheforkswhenanyabnormalitiesarefound.
Ifyouwishtouseahigherviscosityforkoiltostiffentheforks,pleasecallCSCtodiscusswhichoilwill
bestmeetyourneeds.
ChangingtheForkOil
Thefirststepinworkingonthe
forksistoremovethefrontwheel.Pleaseseethefrontwheelremoval
portionofthisServiceManualforinstructionsfrontwheelremoval.
Afterthefrontwheelhasbeenremoved,removetheignitionswitchshroudtogainaccesstotheupper
forkyokepinchbolts.
Thenextstepis
toremovethespeedometercablefromtherightforkleg(ifyouareremovingtheright
forkleg).There’sacompositeclampthatsecuresit.Unscrewtheclampscrewanddetachthe
speedometercablefromtheforkleg.
