1. Make sure there is no obstacle
around the vehicle.
2. Make sure to fasten your seat belt
on the driver's seat and apply the
parking brake rmly.
The parking brake indicator on
the instrument panel comes on
while the parking brake is en-
gaged. It goes off when the park-
ing brake is released.
The buzzer sounds when operat
-
ing the shift lever without releas-
ing the parking brake. Make sure
to release the parking brake be-
fore starting off. Failure to do so
could reduce the life of the park-
ing brake disk.
NOTE
(1) Shift Lever
3. Check that the shift lever is in the
"N" (Neutral) position.
The vehicle is equipped with the
safety switch for starting at the
"N" position. Therefore, the en-
gine can be started only when
the shift lever is in the "N" posi-
tion.
